The governor made this known via his verified Facebook page after chairing the Expanded Security Council Meeting in Kaduna, the first such meeting held in the state in 2026. According to him, the peace model has significantly improved security, strengthened public confidence, and promoted social stability across Kaduna State.
Governor Sani explained that the Kaduna Peace Model is built on inclusiveness, proactive engagement, intelligence-driven security operations, and strong community ownership of peace. He noted that the consistent application of the model throughout 2025 contributed to a steady reduction in conflict and enhanced cooperation between security agencies and local communities.
“Kaduna State has made an irreversible choice: unity over division, dialogue over discord, and development over exclusion. We will not return to the painful divisions of the past,” the governor stated.
The Expanded Security Council meeting brought together heads of security agencies, traditional rulers, and local government chairmen to review the overall security situation in the state. Governor Sani described the engagement as a comprehensive and strategic assessment aimed at consolidating peace and addressing emerging threats.
Beyond security, the governor emphasized that peace efforts in Kaduna are deliberately integrated with his administration’s development agenda. He revealed that Kaduna has been strategically positioned as Nigeria’s agricultural and agribusiness hub, while reaffirming his commitment to complete all ongoing infrastructure projects by 2026.
Sani added that new development projects would soon be initiated to stimulate economic growth, expand opportunities, and reinforce social cohesion across the state. According to him, peace and development must move together for sustainable progress to be achieved.
The governor also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his continued support of Kaduna State’s security initiatives. He praised security agencies, traditional leaders, local government chairmen, and members of the Security Council for their dedication and commitment to maintaining peace.
“Together, we will continue to consolidate peace and build a Kaduna State where every citizen can live, work, and thrive in safety,” Sani said.
Security analysts have described Kaduna’s peace approach as a community-focused model that other states can adapt to address Nigeria’s complex security challenges.
